In September 2019, the company announced a permanent breakfast menu for all locations, but options varied. Nevertheless, it was exciting to know that one of my favorite burger franchises was offering freshly brewed coffee, croissants, and biscuits for early birds like me. So when the location near me finally had the menu, I was one of the very first in line to have a taste of the savory and sweet offerings.
I read the company spent two years developing the breakfast menu to ensure Wendy's loyal customers loved the breakfast options. The research and development department went through extensive research to be able to deliver the good food that breakfast aficionados want, and thus, the Wendy's breakfast combo menu we have today.
Did I mention their freshly brewed coffee is sourced in South America and made from sustainably sourced 100% Arabica beans? Yes, not only is their medium-roast coffee good, but it comes from sources that ensure they practice safe and environment-friendly procedures from planting to harvesting to production.

Wendy's Breakfast Combos Menu
There are 10 items in the breakfast combos menu, but I thought it would be a better idea to categorize them based on what kind of bread is used for the sandwiches. They are categorized by sandwich, croissant, and biscuit, plus signature Wendy's items, sides, and the $3 affordable meal.
All breakfast combos come with a side of seasoned fried potatoes and a drink of Coke or a hot cup of freshly brewed aromatic coffee.
Sandwiches
- Classic Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich Combo
This is a classic breakfast sandwich with a freshly cracked grade-A egg, grilled sausage, and melted American cheese that Wendy's uses in almost all of its offerings. What makes American cheese the perfect kind to use in sandwiches is that it melts without separating, so it stays in shape and in place despite being cooked on the grill. And of course, these toppings are wrapped in a warm breakfast roll.
- Classic Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich Combo
A similar sandwich but instead of sausage, it uses bacon in a warm breakfast roll. It also has a freshly cracked grade A egg, Applewood smoked bacon. and of course, melted American cheese.
Croissants
The croissants are an amazing menu option for breakfast because it's made of 125 layers of dough and baked with lots of butter. It has a wonderful texture that reflects what real breakfast should taste like, offering a warm and sweet taste to a regular sandwich.
- Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant Combo
This is one of my favorite items on the breakfast menu. Aside from the ingredients placed in a rich croissant, it also has a juicy chicken breast that's cooked to perfection, Wendy's signature crispy Applewood-smoked bacon, and maple butter. It's sweet, savory, and buttery, and has the right amount of chicken to make a filling and satisfying breakfast.
- Sausage, Egg, and Swiss Croissant Combo
This combo features grilled sausage, a freshly-cracked grade-A egg, and creamy Swiss cheese layered in a flaky croissant bun. It's simply delicious.
- Bacon, Egg, and Swiss Croissant Combo
This is the same as the sausage croissant but it uses bacon instead. What makes it different is that it has a crunchy and crispy texture and smoky flavor, making it a breakfast basic worth waking up to.
Biscuits
Hands down, Wendy's biscuits are the best among all fast food chains that offer biscuit sandwiches. They use buttermilk biscuits that are fluffy, creamy, and just the right amount of salt for that perfect sweet and savory taste. It has a buttery aftertaste that reminds you treating yourself to a hearty breakfast means you're having a great start to your day.
- Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit Combo
This is made of grilled sausage, melted American cheese, and freshly cracked grade-A egg layered on a fluffy buttermilk biscuit.
- Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit Combo
This is my favorite among all the biscuit combos for its juicy chicken fillet. It comes with a crispy chicken fillet that's perfectly seasoned and topped with maple honey butter. Sweet, salty, savory, and extremely satisfying with a cup of freshly brewed Arabica coffee.
- Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit Combo
This is similar to the sausage biscuit but it uses Applewood smoked bacon instead, which is Wendy's signature bacon of choice.
Signature Items
Wendy's offers The Baconator in their breakfast menu, making it the richest and most filling item you can order. This may not be for anyone looking to sit down for a few minutes and go to work. This is for someone who may have had a long night and want something heavy to eat in the early morning, or for someone who's about to begin a long day and want something that's filling since their next meal is still many hours away.
- The Breakfast Baconator Combo
As the ultimate item on the breakfast menu, this uses Wendy's regular burger bun, but with the original toppings, such as grilled sausage, melted American cheese, 6 strips of crispy Applewood smoked bacon, a freshly cracked grade A egg, more cheese, and Swiss cheese sauce.
It truly is not for the faint-hearted.
Other Breakfast Options
If you're looking for something light to munch on as you bring the kids to school or a small breakfast to start your day, this menu item may be for you.
- Homestyle French Toast Sticks, 6 Piece Combo
These are fluffy French toast sticks that have a homemade quality, served with syrup. It also comes with a side of potato fries and freshly brewed coffee.
Sides
Customers can order a cup of fruit slices, such as apples or oranges, or potato fries seasoned with cracked black pepper and garlic powder.
Previous Breakfast Options
Previously, Wendy's also offered their Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Burrito for their breakfast menu. In some locations, this breakfast menu item is also still being offered.

Wendy's is also offering this affordable $3 breakfast option which consists of seasoned potato fries and a choice of croissant.
Breakfast has never been this good. My favorite is the Biscuit combos and they are hands down, the best among all the fast-food restaurants I've tried that offer biscuit sandwiches. The team behind Wendy's breakfast menu really did a great job in creating menu items that are varied and filling, giving customers great options to start their day right.
